Temple Israel Foundation

L'dor v'dor

The Temple Israel Foundation is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation and a separate entity from Temple Israel. It was initiated in 1974 by then president, Linda Cohen, and approved by the Board of Directors as a way to solicit funds for Temple Israel. These funds provide the resources to maintain, operate, and expand temple facilities. Each year, the Foundation through the Temple Israel Endowment for Sustainment (TIES) contributes a significant amount to help support the employment of a full-time rabbi for our small-sized congregation. Current Temple Israel families in good standing can join the Temple Israel Foundation, Inc. by becoming voting members with a minimum one-time contribution of two times Chai ($36).

The Temple Israel Foundation manages 3 funds that have specific purposes as indicated below. Contributions to these funds must be sent as separate checks to the Temple office indicating the specific fund and marked Attention: Foundation Treasurer
