Yom Sheini, 2 Tammuz 5777

Our Jewish traditions tells us that visiting the sick and supporting those in mourning are among the highest mitzvot. Supporting each other is at the heart of Jewish community.

The Temple Israel Caring Committee (formerly Mitzvah/Caring Committee) was relaunched in 2010. Over the last three years, the Caring Committee has supported many members of our Temple community during illness and following the death of loved ones. The primary means of our support has been to provide and deliver meals and/or food for the gathering following a funeral for Shiva.

The Caring Committee is made up of a dedicated, generous and caring group of women and men who have never failed to respond to the need when asked. However, there is always a need for new people to join the committee. The more of us there are to share this mitzvah, the more support we can offer.

You are invited to join the pool of people who are the "Caring Corps." If you are interested in joining the Caring Committee, or are in need of assistance during a difficult time, please contact chair, Beth Goodman at This email address is being protected from spambots.
